Debbie grew up an active competing member of Martinez Horseman's Assoc. (father was president) and Shadow Hills Junior Ranglers. Competed in all disciplines including Western, English, trail, gymcana, calf penning, rodeo queen, barrel racing, all forms of mounted games.

Visited and toured the Spanish Riding School in Vienna Austria as a child and was forever impacted by the unparalleled haromy of  haute ecole elegance through systematic dressage training. There began a life long passion for classical dressage.

Supported self through 4 year college program breaking, riding and training racehorses in Portland, OR. Became a licensed exercise rider, pony rider and groom with the Oregon Racing Commission. Galloped and ponied horses on Oregon racetracks for income while studying horsemanship, taking lessons and practicing dressage on everything! Graduated with BA in Business in 1985.

Became a certified camp riding instructor on summer break in '83 and worked at summer horsemanship camps in WA state as a trainer, instructor and counselor 2 summers in a row.

After Graduation became a full time working student for FEI dressage rider/trainer and breeder of elite Hanoverian and Holstein horses, Janet Grunbok, Whitethorn Farm, Bainbridge Island, WA.  '87-'88. Intensive study of the German training scale and it's application on warmblood and thoroughbred horses during this time under constant trainer tutiledge.

Continuous study of dressage, combined training and natural horsemanship, working with young, green and problem horses successfully honing skills from '91 to present.

Successfully competed in rated dressage and eventing to the FEI levels from mid 90's to present.

Ridden and cliniced with numerous Olympians and International caliber riders and trainers including Gina Miles, Hawley Bennett-Awad, Kathleen Raine, Jane Weatherwax, Don Sachey, Brian Sabo, Jimmy Wofford, Chris Scarlett, Jen Hannink, Rene Johnson, Loris Henry, Marilyn Rickman, Leslie Web, Janet Grunbok and more.

Backcountry Horseman of CA Adviser, board member, ride coordinator and special events coordinator from '98-'01. Initiated, planned and organized trail trials competitions and numerous events designed to challenge and improve the  horsemanship skills of riders.

Stood APHA, AWS Pinto sporthorse stallions Eternal Dusty and Yellow Investment from '95-'00. Raised, trained and competed their offspring as well.

Bred European Warmblood sporthorses from 1997 to 2006. Producer of numerous premium foals and inspection site champions. Raised, trained and competed offspring successfully to FEI levels.

Became the owner of a notorious problematic AHHA Holsteiner stallion named Cimarron in May '03. Cimarron had been passed from trainer to trainer in Colorado and had become violently resentful of his dressage trainers and riding in general. Trainers began to refuse him. Both Holsteiner and Oldenburg registries declined approving him for breeding and he was given to Debbie as a last resort by his caring owner in hopes her program would make him a happy willing horse again who could realize his potential. After a rough start and some very scary moments, Debbie began combine training him for an eventing career.

Debbie began eventing Cimarron Novice in '04 winning 6 out of 8 recocnized competitions with eventing dressage scores  as low as 20 and 22. 

Won 2004 Area VI Novice Championships and 2004 Area VI Senior Novice Champion.

WON 2004 Area VI Adult Amatuer Champion of all levels.

NAMED 2004 USEF Performance Horse Registry Novice Eventing SILVER STIRRUP NATIONAL CHAMPION

Under Debbie's campaign, Cimarron named 2004 American Warmblood EVENTING HORSE OF THE YEAR

Under Debbie's campaign, Cimarron named American Holsteiner Horse Association Novice Eventing Horse of the Year. That same year Cimarron earned 65% of the points that made his deceased sire Columbus the USEF 2004 LEADING SIRE of Eventing horses in America.

DEBBIE AWARDED USDF BRONZE MEDAL IN 2005

Debbie Evented Cimarron at the Training Level in '05 winning 8 out of 13 recognized competitions including the Area VI Training Championships with dressage penalty scores as low as 22. 

Cimarron named USEA 2005 TRAINING HORSE OF THE YEAR.

Debbie named 2005 MASTER TRAINING RIDER OF THE YEAR

Debbie named 2005 USEF/PHR SILVER STIRRUP NATIONAL CHAMPION EVENTING at TRAINING level.

 Cimarron named AHHA (Holsteiner), AWS & AWR (American Warmblood) 2005 EVENTING TRAINING HORSE OF THE YEAR.

Because of these exemplary acheivements and in spite of being turned down in 2004 and as a 4 year old:

In 2005 Cimarron awarded the prestigious AHHA (American Holsteiner Horse Association) LIFETIME BREEDING LICENSE.

Cimarron named 2006 USEF/PHR SILVER STIRRUP PRELIIMINARY EVENTING ZONE CHAMPION

Debbie named 2006 FRESNO CDS 3RD LEVEL ADULT AMATUER CHAMPION

2008 CIMARRON NAMED USEF LEADING SIRE OF EVENTING HORSES IN THE UNITED STATES!

Debbie named 2008 USEA AREA VI ADULT AMATUER TRAINING RIDER RESERVE CHAMPION AND USEA AREA VI RAM TAP PONY CLUB BENEFIT TRAINING RIDER CHAMPION.

Debbie named 2008 USEF/PHR SILVER STIRRUP ZONE/REGION CHAMPION AT BOTH 3RD LEVEL DRESSAGE AND TRAINING LEVEL EVENTING SIMULTANEOUSLY WITH OMAR.

Debbie awarded 2008 USEA NATIONAL YEAR-END  "TOP TEN OF THE USEA NATIONAL LEADER BOARD FOR TRAINING LEVEL"

Debbie named 2008 USEF/PHR SILVER STIRRUP ZONE, REGIONAL AND NATIONAL CHAMPION PRELIMARY EVENTING

Debbie awarded Fresno CDS Open Reserve Champion and 2nd High Percentage for 2014 after competing at just one weekend competition on a formerly unwanted horse that was donated to New Hope Equine.
